Is Rubeola the same as Measles and how do I show that I am immune?Rubeola is the virus that causes a person to have the Measles. Your facilities may request proof of immunity for MMR, which is Mumps, Measles (Rubeola) and Rubella. Please note, this immunization is for all three illnesses and proof of immunity must include all three diseases. IntelliCentrics follows the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).There are three ways to fulfill this requirement: 1)  A document from a qualified medical provider with dates of immunizations:The MMR vaccine given in 2 doses at least 28 days apart is considered Assumed Immunity. During an outbreak of one of these infectious diseases, a facility may not accept Assumed Immunity. If your documentation is for Assumed Immunity and you are exposed to measles, the CDC and World Health Organization (WHO) recommend a dose of MMR vaccination to prevent development of measles. Measles is the only one of the three diseases that can be treated with a MMR vaccination after exposure and it must be administered within 48 hours of exposure. You may also purchase MinuteClinicTM MMR Vaccinations directly through SEC3URE: Select the My Subscriptions tile. 3)   You were born prior to 1957A birthdate prior to 1957 is considered Assumed Immunity to Measles. It is still recommended for HCPs who do not have proof of immunity for Measles seek laboratory confirmation of immunity or receive 2 doses of MMR vaccine administered at least 28 days apart. If your birthdate is prior to 1957, except a woman of childbearing potential, you must complete the SEC3URE Declination form and show proof of your age to use this option for immunity. Each facility decides whether or not they will accept this Assumed Immunity. If the facility does not accept this option, you will be required to meet one of the above methods of establishing immunity. |
